Cambios

Last week

Today

everything changes
-Robert Plant

Nothing changes....

The times they are a changin' as Bob Dylan said. I had to send a recent pic on my application for S.Korea. They're so no hairy over there (except the women in Asian pornos, man!), i figured I'd temper it a bit but losing some fur. Besides, it's Spring. I even got my haircut! I didn't want them to think I was King Kong or something. They have a fascination with animals of unusual size in the far east (See: Godzilla).

Where will i be tomorrow? No idea.

Daylight Scathings

It's here. Por fin! Longer days. Warmer days. My days here may be fading, but i intend to enjoy whatever time i have left here. We practiced tonight. Sounded good. Sounds better and better all the time. I am playing the brand of beats and rhythms i have always wanted to play with a band. Quite fun indeed.

Safe in the light that surrounds me
Free of the fear and the pain
My questioning mind
Has helped me to find
The meaning in my life again
Victoria's real
I finally feel
At peace with the girl in my dreams
And now that I'm here
It's perfectly clear
I found out what all of this means

If I die tomorrow
I'd be all right
Because I believe
That after we're gone
The spirit carries on

Semana Santa

It's here, Holy Week. Semana Santa. When teachers can't work and starve. But I actually have a few classes next week, which is nice.

I joined a TEFL site, so i am filling out my profile with a CV Internet form. We'll see what happens.

Odd. I say that a lot lately.

I don't know where i'm going. Can't say where i've been. I applied to a job at a public school in South Korea.

But i did let them know that i am allergic to dogs so i can't eat them. Nor will i eat cats, just on principle.

The shape of things to come

Spring is coming. 60's all week and sunny. But rainy today.

I watched, LET THERE BE BLOOD. Daniel Day Lewis was amazing. He plays a cold blooded bastard. It's about the construction of a pipeline. I have written papers on the Valdez oil spill not once, not thrice, but twice. The Alaskan Pipeline has a history of lies and deceit, which i guess are the same thing, except twofold.

Vice president, Spiro Agnew, broke a 50-50 Senate tie, in favor of the Pipeline exiting in Alaska, according with Nixon's wishes of keeping the pipeline in the US to create more US jobs, even though trucking thru Canada would have been more environmentally sound. The agreement struck called for double-hulled ships in the Prince William Sound, to prevent against a spill. Since time the pipeline opened in 1977, not a single ship has had a double hull.

I have also seen some films and documentation that point to Nixon, George Bush Sr., and Haldeman having involvement in the Kennedy Assassination. Two weeks ago, at some the request of a student, i taught a class on the Kennedy Assassination.

Warning Signs for 1st Dates;

+Their phone number begins with 666! Patti's did, but it worked out okay. All mobile phones start with a 6.
+They say they never watch the Simpsons anymore. She said this too.

Ventas

Instant Karma's gonna get you
-john Lennon

i've seen a lot of things. i've heard a lot of things. The new Joe Satriani: Live in Paris, I just wanna rock is orgasmatronic. 'Revelation' and 'The Mystical Potato Head Groove Thing' are not be believed. 'Ice Nine' is pretty sick too.

I met Patti and we had a few beers and talked for three hours. Nice girl. Maybe a bit shy. We said we'd meet again, but that's what Vera Lynn said too. And have i fucking met her ever? Of course not.

Anyway, It was fun to meet Patti. We met by Ventas, by the bull ring. We live pretty close to each other. We'll see. I could go either way.

and one and two and three and four....

in the Sun

Oh i don't know anymore What it's for I'm not even sure If there is anyone Who is in the sun Will you help me to understand Cos i've been caught inbetween All i wish for and all i seem Or maybe you're not even sure What it's for
Anymore than me
-Peter Gabriel

Domingo. Must shower. Then lunch with Cara. Then a date with some woman i met online who seems nice. We'll see. Oh....the perils of online dating. Well, at least she lives in Madrid and it seems like we are much more suited than the slack jawed, gay bashing, bible thumping yokel who emailed me from Tennesse. Tennesse? Seriously?

It's been sunny and warm. It was 66F the other day! Go away winter!

Don't come around here no more
-Tom Petty

Atletico advanced on Thurs to the quarter finals of the Euro Liga where they will play Valencia. That will be good. Brian, Catrina and i watched Ireland lose to Scotland in 6 Nations Rugby, which cost them the Triple Crown, when they beat England, Wales and Scotland. France won the whole thing.

Time to set things in motion!

Sun and Earth

POD Syndrome: The Perils of Online Dating

At the behest of American Laura, i tried another online dating scene on Sunday. You answer questions, create a profile, upload pics, etc.

This chick from TN emailed me. From her profile, i became clear that she;

-felt all same sex relationships were wrong
-saw the Bible as a source of inspiration
-answered a question "Which is bigger, the sun or the earth"; EARTH

That's just proof that
the Bible Thumper idea of intelligent design is the stupidest Goddamn thing i ever heard.

Here was my reply to her:

Hi Kathy,
- Nice to hear from you. You're very attractive and you seem nice, but we seem to be diametrically opposed politically and spiritually.

1. My sister is gay and has been with same partner for over 15 years. They have a Civil Union in the State of New Jersey (Woo woo!) and i don't see anything wrong with a same sex marriage.

all you need is love
-The Beatles

***

2. The sun is approximately 1.3 million times the earth's volume.
The Sun is large enough to hold about 1,000,000 (one million) Earths.
-Wikianswers

3. I live in Madrid. Not Madrid, Nebraska. Madrid, Spain. There are 4,730 miles between us, not to mention a big ocean. I´ve only been to Tennesse once, and in all candor, i hope it stays that way. No offense, i am just a Northeastern type of guy as i grew up near New York City

4.I believe that most organized religions exist only to control and manipulate us into what the people in power want us to do.

“Lisa, if the Bible has taught us nothing else, and it hasn’t, it’s that girls should stick to girl's sports, such as hot oil wrestling and foxy boxing and such and such.”
-Homer Simpson

i wish you all the best but don't see us as a potential match at all. And then there's the whole
living on different continents thing. All the best

Go ask Alice...

Sabado

Well, it looks like we've got our first electric gig opening for a band at the end of April. Some friend of Fernando's who is in the other band. Very exciting. Working on some new songs, which is really enjoyable.

Cold here. Damp and cold. Coldest winter i've ever seen here. I am outlining a new novel. I think this is the one i want to write next. It's science fiction, i guess. More so than anything i've ever written.

The Three Settings:
Spanish Inquisition, Rotterdam in WWII, and a futurist world called Chimerica Very exciting to be back in the planning stages again. I love writing. It was lovely not to write for 4 months. But i was writing for two and a half years before that. Guess i'm just used to it. I need to do it. Weird. Like drumming. Hobbies are critical i should think. Hobbits too. I love those hairy little bastards.

Tired. I go sleeping.

Domingo

Color me relieved. There is no need to fear death, even the most horrifying kind of murder. Because the afterlife is exactly like the album cover for a 1970s progressive-rock band. -Kyle Smith, New York Post, in his review of The Lovely Bones.

It was a visually stunning, and disturbing movie. Stanley Tucci was spellbinding as a weird old serial killer. Terrifying. But it was a bit hokey and disconnected at times. A lot reviews said the book just did it better, which was certainly the case in The Time Traveler's Wife. That movie just sucked.

17:24

Okay.

Got lots of computer stuff done. Boo yeah! Done and i went for lunch. The starter was gambas. The main dish was cordero lechal (milk lamb) which is a baby lamb, like veal, and you get the leg. Stupendous!

Alice: But I don't want to go among mad people.
The Cat: Oh, you can't help that. We're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad.

  • Where will i be in September? Prauge? S. Korea? Japan? Belize?
ooooh! I wish i knew. I wish i knew
-The Who

  • Going to see the THE LOVELY BONER with Laura tonight. No wait. That's a porno. We're going to see THE LOVELY BONES. Watched Ireland beat Wales in the 6 Nations rugby today with Brian. It was a blast.

and the days go by.....

The Caps can clinch a playoff birth tonight and have a shot at the President's trophy for the best regular season record.

I worked til 22:00 tonight. Work be done for the week!

The new Joe Satriani album, Live in Paris: I Just Wanna Rock, is tremendous.

The band goes back to playing electric for tomorrow's practice. It's been a few weeks.

Okay, going to watch an episode of Caprica and then go to bed.

Live at Triskel

Hey! Check out our new MySpace page and our acoustic gig from last Thurs. I would love your honest feedback.

The sun is out today. When the sunlight hit my eyes while i was lying in bed, i thought it was a thermonuclear explosion. i can't remember the last time i saw the sun.

Bad Coordination

I got bad coordination
Stuck a pencil in my eye
I can hardly wait to get back home
Why is everybody gettin' paranoid ?
I's only havin' fun

Scum bags and superstars
Tell me your names
I'll make a bet, you're
both the same
-Talking Heads

Domingo! me so tired. Fernando (our guitarist) recorded the gig on Thurs so i am loading it and will show you how to find it soon. Will try to post on Facebook too. Man, Tamara can sing! Unreal. She seems to almost have Joni Mitchell range. I really like the 8 or 9 songs we have. Pete, Tamara and I all write lyrics and Pete and Fernando both write songs.

Fun weekend. Lots of fun with good friends. But time to get back to work!

Sorry i don't have more to say of late. Things have been gloriously sane. Hope that keeps up.

Adios Vancouver

Hats off to the USA men's hockey team. They fought the good fight.

Congrats to Canada, our poor, ugly, bare footed cousin with STD's.

i hate Sydney Crosby. At least as much as i hate Bill Cosby.

It's been five days, so i just wanted to say i'm alive.

I'M ALIVE!
